April is the first Executive Director for KIPP Dallas-Fort Worth, where she was initially a volunteer and student mentor. Previously, she consulted to Virgin United, the non-profit foundation of Richard Branson's Virgin Group, developing a strategic plan and start-up strategy for a school of entrepreneurship in the Caribbean. She also held several management roles at Neiman Marcus Group and worked as a Management Consultant at A.T. Kearney. She received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Waterloo near Toronto, Canada.
